The Clark County Sheriff's Office has one of the lowest law enforcement officer-to-population ratios in Washington State. Moreover, when compared nationally, Washington State has consistently maintained the lowest number of officers per capita in the United States for many years. Understaffed police agencies result in officer safety concerns, untenable work-life balance issues, and poor response times and service levels. What do you believe the cause(s) of these challenges are, and how would you use your office to address them?
